Late in 2011, Liberty Studios got an early Christmas gift in the form of multiple Academy and Grammy Award winning composer, Howard Shore, who was in Liberty Studios working on post-production for David Cronenberg’s upcoming film Cosmopolis. The film stars Robert Pattinson and was shot in Toronto as well as Manhattan. To sweeten the deal further, the main mixing engineer for the score was John O’Mahony who has worked with Canadian darlings like Metric for many years since their first album to the most recent.

While hosting a week long session for Howard Shore x Cosmopolis, the studio even got a visit from Mr. Cronenberg who; aside from being incredibly talented and innovative, was also very humble and simply a joy to meet and greet.

Juliette Binoche spoke with Madame Figaro about Cosmopolis. Similar to this interview but different enough to post about it and get even more excited. Check out the translated Cosmopolis excerpt plus the gallery from the interview:

What do you do in Cosmopolis, the next David Cronenberg?

I make love in the limo! Belonging to Robert Pattinson, fabulously wealthy man who wants it all and loses it all! It sounds like Cronenberg, doesn’t it? Director of photography, Peter Suschitzky, lights up each shot like a painting. Robert and I were alone in the car with a camera and a microphone, and we could hear David’s voice coming from a distance: we would redo a take, then another one, etc. There was something clinical about it, which for me was a change from Amos Gitai or Abel Ferrara.

Eric Packer is about to embark upon the worst car ride of his life. Thankfully, Robert Pattinson — the actor who plays Packer in “Cosmopolis” — doesn’t share his character’s fate.

Pattinson fans came out in full force to elect “Cosmopolis” the winner of the MTV Movie Brawl 2012, a weeks-long tournament that pitted several of 2012′s biggest releases against one another to determine which film is the must-see cinematic event of the year. After tense battles against titans like “Bel Ami,” “The Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn: Part 2,” “The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Hunger Games,” it’s Pattinson’s upcoming indie thriller that took home the grand prize.

However, the information is not official, since so far the only release date for Cronenberg's film is released 12/12/2o12 (as posted HERE ). Still, it should be noted one detail: the poster that appears in the list of CinePOP is not official, it's just a poster made by a fan (very well done - check it out HERE ) that confounded even the largest sites on the subject.

For now, Cosmopolis does not even have an official distributor in Brazil, therefore, unlikely this date August 17, will be an official date, since the worldwide launch will take place only three months later.

SG: You know I thought it would be Rob, but then when we were in Venice Viggo has some diehard fans, and they just they love him! They freak out for him. But you know Rob doesn’t even have fans … he has this like, CIA. They know where he is, they know everything, they know every detail – they’re on it, so….

GS: That means you’re in it! You know we have a photograph here – every time there’s a photo of you and him together … [this is actually a great shot of the two of you in a scene] …when you get caught up in that, does your life change at all, in any way?

15- Cosmopolis
